Hil Cook was born and raised in New Zealand, trained in London, and is now back home after working all over the world as a hair and makeup artist. Kylie Minogue and Cate Blanchett are among the many international stars Hil has worked on. Hil was also a part of two award winning makeup teams - their work on Lord of the Rings won Weta Workshop both an Oscar™ and a Bafta for "The Return of the King" in 2003.
Hils work has also graced the pages of Itaian Vogue on many occasions.
Hil is the winner of the Best new business award for HER Regional Wellington Businesswoman Of The Year 2010 Awards.
The Hil Cook Company was born out of Hils vision to create an elite team of artists. Hil wanted her team to provide both impeccable makeup and hair artistry for all clients whatever the job.
The Hil Cook Team is now the most successful freelance makeup artistry team in New Zealand. We are recognized for our high quality of work, our cutting edge products and professional, yet fun approach.
Hil’s team specializes in fashion and high fashion editorial work, commercial shoots, film, TV and bridal Hair & Makeup. The team has an amazing eye for detail with artistic backgrounds; this is reflected in all of their work with the use of beautiful colours and textures.
